About the role
WE’RE HIRING | ENGINEER
Mevanti Energy is expanding our engineering team and looking for a skilled, motivated and hands-on Engineer to join us in Mwanza, Tanzania.
THE ROLE
You will support the design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of renewable energy systems across residential, commercial and industrial projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct site surveys and technical load assessments
• Design and size Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Install and commission solar PV systems, inverters, batteries and associated electrical equipment
• Configure system monitoring and communication systems
• Perform electrical testing, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Prepare technical drawings, reports, BOQs and project documentation
• Ensure installations comply with electrical and safety standards
• Provide technical support and after-sales service to clients
• Work closely with the project team to deliver projects to a high professional standard.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
Experience with commercial & industrial solar systems, three-phase systems, BESS, hybrid/off-grid inverters, remote monitoring systems, AutoCAD or other electrical design software will be an advantage.

What we are looking for
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline — mandatory
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and solar PV technology
• Practical knowledge of solar PV, inverters and lithium battery systems
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical manuals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of electrical safety and installation practices
• Good communication, teamwork and technical documentation skills
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Must currently be based in Mwanza or be willing to relocate to Mwanza
